Resources

Atlantic Canada is known for having acidic soil. Our limestone products help neutralize the soil to create the conditions that most plants and grass need to absorb the essential nutrients to grow healthy.

The type of soil (i.e. sandy or clay) and plants (strawberries vs beets) matter when deciding if or how much lime to apply.

These resources should help decide how much lime to apply based on your needs and circumstances.

Know what you are growing: Desired pH soil for Atlantic Canadian Crops

Not all plants desire the same pH (or level of acid soil). When planning your garden, use this table to determine the type of soil your plants prefer.  For lawns and grasses, a neutral soil ( 5.5 to 6.5 pH) is ideal.
